Calling all Lewiston residents with a green thumb: The Lewiston GardenFest is looking for interested homeowners who are willing to showcase their private gardens during this year's annual event, June 23 and 24. Residents do not need to showcase their entire yard, but instead can choose a section they wish to highlight.
Garden enthusiasts and other festivalgoers will be able to view participating gardens only when the "Open Garden" sign is in place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. during the festival weekend. In addition, homeowners will also want to be present during the open garden hours to answer any questions.
The deadline to participate is May 18. For more information or if interested in showcasing your private garden landscape, contact Charlotte at 716-754-2563.
The seventh annual Lewiston GardenFest, sponsored by the Lewiston Garden Club, is Saturday, June 23, and Sunday, June 24, along Center Street in Lewiston. The event features speakers, master gardeners and representatives from floral societies to answer questions, in addition to vendors selling items related to gardening, horticulture and the outdoors. All proceeds from the event are given back to the local community for civic beautification and scholarships.
