NCIDA, Niagara USA Chamber to host informational seminar on development opportunities in Niagara county

The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency, in conjunction with the Niagara USA Chamber U.S., will host an informational seminar on the resources available to those interested in economic development opportunities in Niagara County. Topics that will be covered by NCIDA staff are the agency's marketing initiatives, how to apply for payment in lieu of taxes agreements, available financing programs for development projects, and a testimonial from a Niagara County business owner on the benefits of working with the NCIDA.

The seminar will take place from 8 to 10 am. on Tuesday, May 8, at the Vantage Centre, 6311 Inducon Corporate Drive, Sanborn. The seminar will also provide information on the various development projects taking place or in development.

NCIDA Chairman Henry M. Sloma will provide an update on the state of economic development in Niagara County and various agency objectives for 2012. NCIDA staff members will follow and touch on topics of ranging from marketing efforts in Canada to information on property tax abatements available to spur urban redevelopment in the county's three cities.

"Niagara County is experiencing an economic resurgence spearheaded by a number of significant economic development projects, and this seminar is designed to provide information and educate those in attendance on these important projects and how they will affect future development in the region," Sloma said. "The forum will also afford attendees the opportunity to learn about the various resources available to them through our agency. We want to make sure as many companies, developers and community members are aware of these resources and programs."

The seminar is free and open to all local companies, commercial banks and lenders, organizations and individuals that are interested in learning more on how their business can grow and prosper in Niagara County. A continental breakfast will be served.

The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency is a not-for-profit public benefit corporation established in 1972 by the County Legislature.
