Artpark seeking volunteers for 2012 season eventsby jmaloni
Special emphasis placed on recruiting assistants for outdoor concerts and special concert events
Artpark & Company Inc. is seeking active, energetic volunteers to assist in upcoming summer performances, particularly the venue's Mainstage Concert events, which include matinee and evening "Cinderella" performances as well as ticketed special concert events featuring rock and pop performers, and "Tuesday in the Park" and "Coors Light Wednesdays" concerts in the outdoor amphitheater.
All candidates must have exceptional communication skills and be physically able to traverse the park's uneven landscape (which includes stairs and inclined surfaces), and stand for extended periods of time. Volunteers are needed to man walkways, verify patron identification, as ushers, as ticket takers, to assist with raffles and giveaways and perform various other tasks during performances.
The "First Niagara presents Tuesday in the Park at Artpark" ticketed concert series runs for 12 consecutive weeks beginning June 19 and features national headliner musicians. "Coors Light Wednesdays" free outdoor concerts begin on June 20 and run through Aug. 4 (no show on July 4), and also feature free hands-on art activities for children. Both concert series begin at 6:30 p.m. in the outdoor amphitheater. Afternoon and evening shifts are available for the outdoor Tuesday and Wednesday concerts from 3 to 6 p.m. and 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The "Coors Light Wednesdays" and "First Niagara presents Tuesday in the Park" concert lineups will be announced on May 15.
