Town of Niagara Friday pick-ups halted

The Town of Niagara announced on Friday that its sanitation company, Allied Waste, is currently having a contract dispute with its workers and therefore will not pick up garbage or recycling in the town on the normal Friday schedule.

Allied provided an alternative pickup plan and schedule for town residents:

•If your regular pickup is Friday, March 23, the new pickup will be Monday, March 26.

•If your regular pickup is Monday, March 26, the new pickup will be Tuesday, March 27.

•If your regular pickup is Tuesday, March 27, the new pickup will be Wednesday, March 28.

Allie Waste stresses this is a temporary condition. "

We've been informed we will be back to normal pickup schedules by Wednesday, March 28," the company said in a statement. "On behalf of Allied waste, we are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and we can assure you it will be remedied as soon as possible."
