State Sen. George Maziarz and State Assemblyman John Ceretto are pleased to announce that tomorrow, Tuesday, March 20, Nik Wallenda and his family, the "Flying Wallendas," will be featured on "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel." The program airs at 10 p.m. on HBO.

A portion of tomorrow night's show will feature an interview with Nik, focusing in part on his much-anticipated upcoming walk across Niagara Falls. He will also talk about the history of the Flying Wallendas and previous walks he has completed.

"I'm excited to see this interview, as it is the first step in this walk that will showcase to the country just how big this event is going to be," Maziarz said. "This interview will show Niagara Falls, N.Y., in a positive light and will demonstrate just how much the city offers."

"This is another wonderful chance for Nik to showcase Niagara Falls to a wide audience," Ceretto said. "Nik's walk is clearly generating interest and enthusiasm for Niagara Falls on a national and international level; this interview is just the latest sign."

Maziarz and Ceretto introduced and passed legislation in June of 2011 to allow Wallenda to traverse the gorge on a high wire. Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the legislation into law in September of that same year. In February, the event was approved by the Niagara Parks Commission in Ontario giving Wallenda the necessary approval on both sides of Niagara River.
