Lewiston-Porter Youth Baseball-Softball announced this week it will host tryouts for a new mix 8U/9U player pitch travel baseball team. The Lewiston Lancers will compete in the Sunday travel league and play in one or two tournaments in July.
There will be a tryout on Friday, March 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the Lewiston-Porter Intermediate Education Center gym on the Lew-Port campus. Players should bring sneakers and baseball gloves.
According to Mike Dashineau, Town of Lewiston Parks and Recreation director, this team is designed for players moving up to player pitch as either a 9-year-old player or an advanced 8-year-old player who is interested in developing their natural baseball talents at an advanced level.
Players or parents with questions should contact John DiCarlo at [email protected].
The 8-year-old players who try out for this team are expected to be registered for boys minors in 2012; 9u Lancers participation will not interfere with eligibility for 8U all stars.
