Youth baseball registration on Wednesday

Lewiston & Porter Youth Baseball announces it will host an open registration and coaches' recruitment meeting on Wednesday, March 14, at the Lewiston Senior Center, 4361 Lower River Road. Open registration begins at 6 p.m., and the coaches meeting will be held at 7 p.m.

"Lewiston & Porter Baseball and Softball is completely dependent on good people to allow us to offer a great program to our kids," said Lewiston Parks and Recreation Director Mike Dashineau. He notes that for those who volunteer their time and efforts as a head coach for any level of team, Lewiston Baseball will take 50 percent off of each child's registration fee. Coaches do not need an extensive baseball or softball background, just a willingness to present the game in a positive way.
