Ceramics, glass and jewelry workshops offered on Saturdays in August
It's never too late to learn a new craft.
Discover a hobby, brush up on a technique or master a skill at Artpark's new "Adult Art Workshops."
Registration is now under way for three art workshops to be offered this August at Artpark. "Adult Art Workshops" will include a two-part ceramics workshop, a glass fusion workshop and a workshop focused on metal clay jewelry.
The full Artpark schedule is as follows:
•Ceramics (two-part workshop)
Description: This two-part ceramic class will demonstrate hand building as well as throwing techniques, plus electric and raku kiln firings.
Description: Bruce Verbeck, an experienced Western New York glass artist, will guide the class through the technique of fusing glass in a kiln as well as discussing types of glass, glass cutting, and more to create a one-of-a-kind fused glass artwork.
•Metal clay jewelry
Description: Dawn DiGesare, a metal clay artist and fine art jeweler, will teach the basic fundamentals of working with silver precious metal clay, cleaning, firing and finishing a unique piece of jewelry.
Persons at all levels of expertise may register, but must be at least 18 years old. The deadline for registration is July 4. Enrollment is limited, as one-on-one instruction is emphasized. Full payment is due upon registration.
