The Greater Lockport Family YMCA and YMCA Camp Kenan are once again gearing up for the annual "Race Series" benefitting the YMCA Camp Kenan Camper Scholarship Fund. Each year, YMCA Camp Kenan assists in providing scholarships to campers from across Western New York. The goal is to make weeklong residence camp experiences a reality for families in need.

The 41st annual "Lockport Y-10" (10-mile race) on Saturday, Feb. 11, is the first race in the series. It is the second oldest continually run race in Western New York and also a favorite among local running enthusiasts. The 16th annual "Polar Bear 5K and Pancake Breakfast," the second race in the series, is making a name for itself as an exciting 5K in the area. Held in Olcott, in conjunction with the Lion's Club's annual "Polar Bear swim," the "Polar Bear 5K and Pancake Breakfast" is set for Sunday, Feb. 26. The breakfast is open to non-runners in the community and will start at 9 a.m. for a $5 suggested donation.
