The Western New York branch of the American Public Works Association recently named the restoration of the Piper Law Office/Lewiston Welcome Center as the 2011 Project of the Year - Historical/Preservation Award. The accolade promotes excellence in the management and administration of public works projects by recognizing the partnership between the managing agency and participating consultants and contractors.

The award will be presented at the association's annual awards banquet on Thursday, Feb. 9.
