The N-W High School Student Government is focusing more projects this year on service learning.

The first project is a raffle where students can purchase raffle tickets by donating non-perishable food items. The raffle will take place from Jan. 12 through Feb. 17. Raffle tickets will be available during the school day and also at some athletic events. So far, items that will be raffled include: a varsity jacket donated by Stuarts Sports, $150 towards a class ring donated by Tom McGrath at Jostens, two Sabres tickets, two high school yearbooks, passes for free food items in the cafeteria, gift cards and two priority parking spots for students.

Donated food items will be given to three churches in the N-W community, as well as the Community Health Workers Program on the Tuscarora Nation.

Anyone interested in donating food or raffle items can call the school at 215-3101 and speak with one of the student government advisors: Patti Gormley, Lisa Lindamer or Christa Zwelling.
