Open to all; venue now accepting submissions

Artpark rang in the new year by launching a T-shirt design contest that is now under way and open to public. The Lewiston venue invites amateur, professional and student artists to create a fresh design to embody all that is "Artpark."

Since the late 1970s "Artpark Tees" have been a popular and exclusive way to proudly support Artpark and its mission to produce and present excellence in the visual and performing arts, and create unique cultural experiences in a casual, natural setting. From the "Artpark People" tag line to the latest "Make Tracks to Artpark" theme, "Artpark Tees" are a sign of the times and represent Artpark's diverse summer season.

Deadline for postmarked and/or electronic submission of entries - along with a $5 non-refundable fee per artist - is March 1. A jury will select the winning design by the end of March. The winning entry, including the artist's name/ signature, will be printed on approximately 500 T-shirts, which will be sold at select Artpark events. Proceeds will benefit Artpark's family programming.

Before submitting a design, all artists must read the Artpark T-shirt design contest rules and guidelines and complete an official entry form, available online at www.artpark.net under the "Visual Arts" tab. The design can be anything as long as it is 100 percent original, family-appropriate, and must incorporate the word "Artpark" in some way.

Artists may submit up to three designs with a maximum of three colors per design. The design must be suitable to be silk screened onto a standard white cotton T-shirt, but may be created in any medium. Designs may be submitted in person at the Artpark Box Office, emailed to [email protected], or mailed to "Artpark T-shirt Design Contest," 450 S. Fourth St., Lewiston, NY 14092.
