On Nov. 22, an official signing ceremony was held at Niagara-Wheatfield High School for senior Caitlin Attfield, who will attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham next year on a full softball scholarship.

Attfield has played varsity softball for Niagara-Wheatfield since eighth grade and is known as a standout shortstop. She is a three-time all-Western New York selection for softball and led the Falcons to the state semifinals last spring.
