Erie County Sheriff's Office Report for Nov. 11, 2011

The Erie County Sheriff's Office reports its officers responded to 181 calls from Oct. 29 to Nov. 4. Below is a sampling of only those incidents the ECSO reported to the Island Dispatch.

Monday, Oct. 31

Blackmon Road, warrant arrest - Deputies arrested a 40-year-old Grand Islander, after a check showed that the subject had an outstanding warrant from the City of Buffalo.

•Grand Island Boulevard, criminal mischief - A complainant stated that someone damaged a washing machine while at an apartment complex on Grand Island Boulevard.

•Deerwood Lane, youth activity - A complainant stated a group of kids were acting suspiciously. Patrol checked the area and was unable to locate the youths.

•Sandy Beach Road, criminal mischief - A complainant stated that several pumpkins were smashed and thrown into the street.

Tuesday, Nov. 1

•Grand Island Boulevard, suspicious person - A complainant stated that a suspicious-looking male was seen in the area of a restaurant playing with a knife. Patrol located a subject who was an employee of the restaurant. The subject was not in possession of a knife.

•Bedell Road, residential burglary - A complainant stated that an unknown person or persons entered her unlocked apartment and stole various items. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Wednesday, Nov. 2

•Staley Road, residential burglary - A complainant stated that someone entered his residence and stole numerous items during the daytime hours. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Thursday, Nov. 3

•Grand Island Boulevard, traffic arrest - Following a traffic stop, deputies arrested a 38-year-old man from Buffalo after a Department of Motor Vehicles check showed his license was suspended. The man was issued traffic tickets returnable to Town of Grand Island Court.

•Huth Road, marijuana possession - Following a traffic stop, deputies arrested a 24-year-old woman from Grand Island after she was found to have a small amount of marijuana in her possession. The woman was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Grand Island Court.
