As formidable, but certainly not as scary as lions, tigers or bears, the second annual Wine, Chocolate & Cheese event will feature its namesake goods - and much more. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22.

Hosted at the Cambria Volunteer Fire Department, located at 4631 Cambria Wilson Road, organizers of the fundraiser hope to have another successful year. The head count from last year's benefit was more than 400 satisfied guests; so don't be left out of this year's event.

Admission is $15, and all proceeds go to Cambria Fire Department. The price includes a complimentary wine glass, endless opportunities to win great door prizes from more than 50 vendors and, of course, plenty of free samples of wine, chocolate and cheese.

Susan Wendt, advertising coordinator for Wine, Chocolate & Cheese, said admission also includes, "A great hometown experience with one-stop shopping!"

The "Jr. Firefighters" will be on hand to help the vendors prepare for the event. Vendors will sell jewelry, soaps, dog goodies, homemade ties, homemade aprons, hair salon products, wine bottle lamps, bird houses, floral arrangements, painted feathers and pottery. Also, the Flying Bison's Brewmaster will be on site discussing its micro-brews as well as offering tastings.

As for the main attraction, Ellicottville Winery, in addition to several locally owned wineries, will be at the fundraiser sporting bottles of wine to be purchased at each station.

Want some cheese with that wine? Kutter's Cheese will supply cheese samples at the event. Also, Lindt Chocolate and Niagara Chocolates will be ready to satisfy each and every sweet tooth.

Although eating, drinking and musical entertainment will be a-plenty inside, there will be a few new things happening outside, including a farmers market.

Not only is the Wine, Chocolate & Cheese event packed with entertainment, goodies, great food and drink, but there's also an opportunity to participate in a good cause. Upstate New York Transplant Services will be on site to conduct a community blood drive.

So, have a heart, muster some courage and use your brain. Save the date for the Wine, Chocolate and Cheese event.
