First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston hosts its second annual "Pooch Parade" and blessing of the animals on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Registration will begin at 9:45 a.m. in the front of the church, corner of Cayuga and South Fifth streets. The parade will start at 10 a.m. Participants are asked to bring a can of dog food with their registration fee. All donations will be given to the Niagara County SPCA.

The Village of Lewiston Board has approved closing the eastbound lane of Center Street, as participants walk from the church to Academy Park. At the park, there will be a representative from the SPCA, venders, a dog grooming demonstration, and some free samples.

All dogs must be on a leash and should be accompanied by responsible walkers (bring along something to clean up after your pet, if needed).

Last year, dogs of all sizes - from very large to very, very tiny - took part, with no incidents.
