October activities at Youngstown Library

The Youngstown Free Library, located in the Red Brick School village center, 240 Lockport St., announced the following events and activities taking place during the month of October.

•The Town of Porter will hold story hours at the library on Tuesdays at 9:30 and 11 a.m. for children ages 3 to 5.

•Toddler and parent story time will take place on Fridays at 9:30 a.m.

•The Lewiston-Porter Builders Club will present a story hour on Saturday, Oct. 15. The theme will be "Haunted Halloween." Mrs. Oddy is the group's advisor again this year. The Builders Club will present a themed story hour each month through the school year.

•The BTOP Express Free Computer Classes in October will be file management on Thursday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and "Gaga for Google" on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sign-up sheets are in the library for all computer classes. There is also a sheet listing all the classes available through BTOP Express. Stop by and look it over, and check off classes that you would like presented in Youngstown.

•Be on the lookout for the library scarecrow.

The library will be closed on Monday, Oct. 10, in observance of Columbus Day.

Library hours are Monday-Thursday 1:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
