Youngstown Mayor Neil C. Riordan, who was battling cancer, passed away Friday morning at his home.
The popular mayor had served in that office since June of 2001. Prior to that time, he served as deputy mayor and as a village trustee, dating back to May of 1979.
Riordan, who had been undergoing treatment at Roswell Park Memorial Cancer Institute in Buffalo, had arrived home on Monday.
At this time, funeral arrangements are incomplete.
