Jerald I. Wolfgang of Lewiston will be the featured honoree at the 12th annual "Good Works Gala" of the Mount St. Mary's Foundation. The black-tie gala will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Niagara Falls Country Club, 505 Mountain View Drive in Lewiston.

The proceeds raised from this year's event will benefit the renovation of The Family Birthplace (maternity and gynecology services) at Mount St. Mary's Hospital & Health Center. Gala chairs are Michele and Michael Mistriner of North Tonawanda. Vincenette and David SanLorenzo will serve as co-chairs. The evening features a silent auction, cocktails, dinner and dancing.

Wolfgang is executive director of the Western New York Regional Education Center for Economic Development. For Mount St. Mary's, he has served in volunteer roles as a past member and vice chair of the foundation board and past chairman of the gala; past president of the Mount St. Mary's board of associates, and past chairman of its annual golf tournament and Hewitt Awards scholarship dinner. Earlier this year, Wolfgang was chairman of the first reverse draw fundraising event for the foundation.

In the community, Wolfgang is the long-time chairman of the Lewiston Kiwanis Peach Festival Parade, past chairman of the United Way of Niagara campaign, a member of the Lewiston-Porter International Business Advisory Committee, and chairman of such events as the Festival of Lights Parade and Niagara Falls Community Faire. He is host of "Target Success," a weekly cable access television program highlighting education and economic development. He also is the host of "Happenings in Niagara County," a weekly cable access television program on LCTV.

"Jerry Wolfgang is an untiring volunteer for Mount St. Mary's and the community, and this recognition is well earned and deserved," said Kelly Besaw, foundation board chair.

More than 400 guests from the community will attend the gala event.
