The North Tonawanda Federation Varsity Hockey Team has begun its yearly fundraising efforts. The cost of one season of hockey is approximately $35,000, which the school district is unable to provide. Therefore, the burden falls on the players and the booster club to raise the money.
The team will host a meat raffle fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Gratwick Firehall, 110 Ward Road, North Tonawanda. The event runs from 6 until 9 p.m., and includes refreshments, a 50/50 raffle (beginning at 6:30 p.m.) and a door prize drawing.
Call 983-8547 or 812-3695 to reserve your tickets now (a maximum of 350 will be sold).
All are welcome. Bring your singles, your coolers and your friends. For more information on meat raffles, visit www.wnymeatraffles.com.
