We all read the paper and watch the news, and sometimes the amount of tragic information we take in daily can be overwhelming. As a small panacea, I have a fabulous, feel-good, happy tale to share with you!

My son recently received an iPod Touch for his seventh birthday. Immediately upon his opening the package, I slapped a sticker on the back with his name and home phone number. (His older sister already lost hers, and there was no name tag sticker on it.) He looked at me indignantly and said, "Mom! It doesn't look cool anymore!" I assured him that, if he lost it, he would be thrilled he had that unsightly sticker on the back.

A few days ago, he went to the movies with his friend and, unbeknownst to him, his iPod fell out of his hoodie pocket.  I was at home when "Bill" called and gave the happy news to our answering machine that he found my son's iPod at Regal Theater! I immediately drove there, and found him waiting patiently in the parking lot.  I couldn't thank him enough and this kind soul barely let me give me him a small reward.  Bill Clark, of Niagara Falls, truly is a modern day hero. He is definitely my son's hero!

So just remember, when the latest news of the world gets you down, there are truly honest and good people still inhabiting our planet. Oh, and now Alexander is trying to label everything he owns!

If you have a happy story to share, email [email protected]. Sophia would love to share your experience!
