Youngstown Free Library has drama club presentation

The Youngstown Free Library One World Many Stories Drama Club will present "A World of Stories" on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 7 p.m. in the Red Brick School Village Center gym. Library spokesperson Jan Gilgore reports the drama club participants have been practicing, making costumes and props for several weeks. The program is open to the public.

After the drama club presentation the "Reading at Home Club" participants will receive certificates of participation and prizes for their summer reading.

Gilgore notes the library will continue to join the Village of Youngstown recreation program at Falkner Park each Wednesday at 1 p.m. with a story hour. Amanda Free, the library's summer reading program coordinator, NIOGA roving storytellers, and Tamara Larson, Lewiston-Porter Elementary Education Center principal, will read stories and do activities with participating children. This program will continue through Aug. 24. All Wednesday story hours will be held in the library in the event of rain.

•Gilgore invites readers to stop by to say hello, play trivia and tell them "what you geek" at the library tent, at the Village of Youngstown Picnic on Saturday, Aug. 20.

The Youngstown Free Library is open Monday to Thursday, 1:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is closed in the summer on Saturdays and will be closed Monday, Sept. 5, for the Labor Day holiday. Saturday hours will resume on Sept. 10.
