Historic Lewiston photos sought

As part of the Country Fair and Community Yard Sale held by the Village of Lewiston Recreation Department on Sept. 17, there will be a new clothesline show of historic pictures of Lewiston.

In 2010, at the Country Fair and encored at the Spring Fling, the Rec. Dept. displayed more than 100 old pictures of Lewiston, much to the delight of residents and visitors. The emphasis last year was on Center Street. This year, it will be on other buildings in Lewiston, and its residents.

The Rec. Dept. is coordinating this project with the Historical Association of Lewiston. At this time, the Rec. Dept. is looking for residents to share their historic photos of buildings in Lewiston, as well as old group photos of sports and school groups.

Original photos will be enlarged and displayed during the Country Fair. Those interested in participating should call the Rec. Dept. at 754-8271.
