Students from the Lewiston Dance Center took part in the recent "SummerDanse" competition held at Niagara County Community College. The Dancer Center's Rachel Novelli reports "SummerDanse" was a "first-time" event for most of the students who participated.

Among the performances was "Sing, Sing, Sing," a tap number danced by Sarah Andres, Kelsey Oliverio and Emma Okienowski, who merited first runner up with a gold score. Alex Westadt and Maddie Cichoki's lyrical duet came in first place in its category, and other dance participants achieved gold scores with their performances.

The Lewiston Dance Ensemble received a special Judges Award for "Intensity" for its jazz dance "Cry Little Sister."
