The Lewiston Region Tour of Kitchens and Homes, sponsored by Kinetic Kitchen and Bath, with its fabulous food samples, gardens and tablescapes, took place June 11 and 12 in Lewiston and Youngstown neighborhoods. Organizers report it was a tremendous success.
Ticket holders had the opportunity to vote on the best culinary sample as well as the "Best in Show" for featured tablescapes.
For the third consecutive year, the Youngstown Village Diner won best culinary sample for its strawberry walnut salad and its black bean and rice soup. In the first photo (from left) is presenting sponsor Chris Connelly of Kinetic Kitchen and Bath, Village Diner owner Cathy Pasquantino and her team, including Margaret Placek, Sheila Tubinis and Garda O'Keefe.
The Bonnevie home on Lower River Road, and its supporting cast, was voted "Best in Show" for decor, tablescapes, accents, flowers and decorative cakes. In photo No. 2 (from left) is event coordinator Sandy Hays Mies of Limelight WNY, Susan Hofert of the Village Bake Shoppe, Connelly, homeowners Dr. David and Kari Bonnevie, Artie Vanderpool (vanderpool:design), Tasia Fitzpatrick of Rooms Recreated by Tasia, and Linda O'Connor of Summertime Blooms.
According to Hays Mies, "The event was truly a show-stopper! Really, every home, tablescape and culinary sample was award-winning." This event helped benefit the Historical Association of Lewiston and the Porter Historical Society.
