Ghostlight features Wheatfield playwright

Starry Night Theatre Inc. at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St., North Tonawanda, will feature the works of Wheatfield playwright L. Don Swartz for its 40th season.

Three of Swartz's titles to be produced include the comic thriller "Halloween Dreams"; a world premiere adaptation of the gothic classic "Frankenstein"; and a world premiere comedy "Lottie & Bernice in Regrets Only." The season also includes "It's A Wonderful Life" and "Fiddler on the Roof."

Swartz has been writing plays exclusively for the Ghostlight Theatre since 1983. Twenty-five of his original works that made their debuts on the Ghostlight stage have been published by Samuel French, Baker's Plays, Eldridge Publishing, among others and been produced in 47 states and abroad. His plays have been produced by The Lough Gar Dramatic Society, Bruff, Ireland; Dorchester Center for the Arts, Cambridge, Md.; Vintage Theatre, Denver, Col.; The Barn Playhouse, Saskatoon, Canada; Gate Theatre, Piti, Guam; Stage Two Theatre, Waukeagan, Ill.; Stageworks, Wilmington, N.C., and radio stations WPHT Radio, Philadelphia, Pa., and KACV FM Radio, Amarillo, Texas.
