Newsmakers at the Lewiston Public Library include Michelle Kratts, right, a genealogy specialist/library assistant, who recently celebrated her 10 years of service. The library staff thanked Kratts for her hard work and dedication by presenting her with a Silver Star recognition award.
Officer John Penzotti of the Lewiston Police Department presented a program on bullying to younger visitors at the library on March 22. The presentation discussed what a bully is, what type of behavior constitutes bullying, the best ways to handle a bully and what students can do to help themselves, friends and classmates in a bullying situation.
Participants also learned that standing by and doing nothing when seeing someone being bullied means the bully has won.
