Arlene S. Canavan passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, following a brief illness.
She graduated from State Teachers College in Albany. Canavan and her husband, Connie, met as Gaskill Junior High School where both were teachers. She also taught at Stella Niagara in the 1960s.
Canavan wrote poetry, was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed horseback riding. She had an abiding interest in nature and was fascinated by all animals.
Arlene was the wife of the late Cornelius (Connie) M. Canavan, and the daughter of the late Stephen and Rose Sadler. She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Canavan will be remembered at a memorial Mass on Saturday, April 16, at 11 a.m. in St. Bernard's Church in Youngstown.
