Within hours of the earthquake in Japan, the Lions Clubs International Foundation committed more than $1.25 million to help those in need. This includes monies from a catastrophe and emergency fund, plus establishing a designated fund for Lions around the world to directly support those in need.

Anyone wishing to donate to this fund may make out a check to the Community of Lewiston Lions (write "Japan" in memo area) and mail to: The Lewiston Community Lions, P.O. Box 249, Lewiston, NY 14092.

One hundred percent of the funds will go directly to the needed areas.
