Historical federation includes Tuscarora heroes

The annual Congress of the Federation of Historical Societies will focus its attention on 1812 matters when it meets at the Niagara County History Center, 215 Niagara St., Lockport. The event runs from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 9.

Niagara County Historian Kate Emerson will discuss "Who was Betsy 'Fanny' Doyle?" at 9:45 a.m. Lee Simonson will discuss Tuscarora heroes at 11 a.m. Jerry Brubaker will review Fort Niagara's planned 1812 programming at 1 p.m.

The cost of the event is $20, which includes a choice of lunch, catered by The Shamus Restaurant.  Reservations are due by April 2 and may be made by calling the History Center at 434-7433.
