This past Wednesday, U.S. Coast Guard Station Niagara paid tribute to two fellow servicemen who lost their lives on March 24, 2001, when they were ejected from a 21-foot Station Niagara boat while on patrol along the U.S.-Canadian border in Lake Ontario. The ceremony, held at the Old Fort Niagara Visitor's Center and attended by USGC Vice Commandant Adm. Sally Brice-O'Hara, honored the memory of BM2 Scott J. Chism and SN Chris Ferreby, and expressed the gratitude of USCG to the families of both members for their dedication and sacrifice. The program concluded with a wreath-laying ceremony at the permanent memorial located on the grounds of USCG Station Niagara.
