OutdoorsNiagara.com and Feather and Fur Bait Shop of Wilson have announced the spring 2011 Bullhead Contest, to take place Friday and Saturday, April 1 and 2, in Niagara County waterways.

"This is the first all-of-Niagara County waters bullhead contest ever held," said organizer Mark Daul.

The event opens Friday, April 1, at 6 p.m. and runs to noon on April 2. Cost to enter is $10 for one and $15 for two. "This is a 100 percent payback contest less expenses and there will be awards and a picnic to follow on Saturday, April 2, at the Wilson Conservation Club," said Daul. "It is a total weight of two fish contest and credit of 3 ounces per fish if it is alive and healthy at weigh-in."

He reports that a picnic and weigh-in will take place at the Wilson Conservation Club on Saturday between noon and 1 p.m. on April 2. Contestants may fish in any Niagara County waters.

No entries will be accepted after 6 p.m., April 1. There will also be a 50/50 drawing to benefit the Wilson Conservation Club. All ties and rules interpretation will be by judges Richard Fortier and Tom Jacob.
