Medina, an early favorite who captured America's attention with a heart-wrenching love story, was eliminated on Wednesday's show
"American Idol" hopeful Chris Medina is scheduled to perform on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" Friday, Feb. 25 (11:35 p.m. ET).
Medina captured America and the "Idol" judges' attention early in the competition for more than just his vocal skills. He is the primary caregiver to his fiancée, Juliana Ramos, who was severely injured in a car accident just months before they were supposed to wed.
In an emotional moment, Medina was eliminated on Wednesday's episode, which ended his amazing journey on the popular singing competition show.
Rickey Minor and The Tonight Show Band will accompany Medina on "What Are Words" - a song inspired by Medina's love story. The track, which was written and produced by Rodney Jerkins, will be available online today.
