Niagara-Wheatfield Community Continuing/Adult Education February programs

Looking for something to do to help you through the long winter months ahead, something special to make for your sweetheart for Valentines Day, or an opportunity to learn something more about a subject that has always interested you? Do we have a class for you.

Niagara-Wheatfield's Community/Continuing Adult Education program classes in February include activities in the areas of health and wellness, learning and leisure, arts and crafts, financial, life tips, and things to do in the kitchen, with more than 40 new classes added this semester.

Classes in February include hatha yoga, a six-session class that started Wednesday, Feb. 2, and Tai Chi, 18 sessions offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning on Feb. 8 at Colonial Village Elementary School's blue gym  (1456 Saunders Settlement Road, Town of Niagara.)

Dancing is also offered at the Colonial Village site with classes in introduction to ballroom dancing, west coast swing and practice dance, all five-session dance classes that began in the blue gym on Friday, Feb. 4.

At West Street Elementary School, on the corner of West Street and Saunders Settlement Road in Sanborn, country/western line dancing began Tuesday, Feb. 1, for six sessions, as well as couples country western line dancing. On Thursday, Feb. 3, tactical self-defense kicked off for a six-session run.

Edward Town Middle School, 2292 Saunders Settlement Road in Sanborn, is the site for new one-session classes, with "Sweets for Your Sweetie," on Tuesday, Feb. 8; rubber stamping, Victorian card class on Wednesday, Feb. 9; "Have a Heart, Share a Heart," Thursday, Feb. 10, and "Bonsai - Make It, Take It," on Thursday Feb. 17. On Monday, Feb. 28, "Cookies, Cakes and Pies" class starts and will run for four sessions.

Classes at Niagara-Wheatfield Senior High School, 2292 Saunders Settlement Road in Sanborn, include sign language, eighth-grade homework help for parents, German, and "Living with Compassion," which all began on Feb. 1; conversational Italian, and "Healing with Energy," which began on Feb. 2; seventh-grade homework help for parents, introduction to Reiki, which began Feb. 3; baby sign language, trigger point relief, and "Investing for Women," beginning Monday, Feb. 7; NYSDMV insurance reduction class, seventh-grade homework help for parents and "Seven Steps to Spiritual Consciousness," on Tuesday, Feb. 8; "Social Security, Make the Right Choice," offered in one session on Thursday, Feb. 10; and numerology, on Thursday, Feb. 17.
