The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, will present The Levon Helm Band on Sunday, March 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre, located at the Center for the Arts, North Campus.

Legendary musician and rock icon Levon Helm dives deeply into his craft by incorporating gospel, blues, and soul into his eclectic brand of Americana. Helm, who has played with the likes of Bob Dylan and The Band, has helped give the world classics such as "Up on Cripple Creek," "The Weight," and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," among many others.

In 2007, Helm released "Dirt Farmer," his first solo studio album in 25 years. The critically acclaimed album awarded him a 2008 Grammy for Best Traditional Folk Album. That same year, Helm was also recognized by the Recording Academy with a lifetime achievement award as an original member of The Band and was given the Artist of the Year Award by the Americana Music Association. In 2009, Helm released "Electric Dirt," which won him his second consecutive Grammy in the inaugural category of Best Americana Album in 2010.

Tickets for The Levon Helm Band, at $56.50 and $46.50, are available at the Center Box Office (Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.) and all Ticketmaster locations, including ticketmaster.com. To charge tickets, call 1-800-745-3000. For more information, call 645-2787.
