Buffalo Stars hosts junior B showcase

The period between Christmas and Jan. 5, 2011, will see a major event in the Buffalo metro area as the Queen City gets set to host the World Junior Games. The best junior-aged players in the world will converge on Western New York over the 10-day period for national bragging rights.

There is another junior event in Buffalo at the same time. The Continental Hockey Association will hold a junior B showcase event in Buffalo Dec. 26 to 29 at the Holiday Twin Rinks in Cheektowaga. Hosted by the Buffalo Stars Junior Organization, the event will include: Boston Junior Bruins; Frederick (Maryland) Freeze; New England Huskies; New Hampshire Monarchs; Pittsburgh Junior Penguins; Philadelphia Revolution; Potomac (Virginia) Patriots; and the host Buffalo Stars.
