Video game composer Tommy Tallarico is proud to say that his vegan diet has given him an extra life. That's why the Video Games Live founder has teamed up with peta2, the world's largest youth animal rights group, for a brand-new vegan testimonial print public service announcement in which he proclaims, "I'm Tommy Tallarico, and I'm vegan."

Tallarico, who has worked on more than 275 games and received more than 45 industry awards, also sat down for an exclusive peta2 interview in which he discussed the many reasons he chose to go vegan. "I've always loved animals, and there was always something that just kind of felt wrong about eating meat," says Tallarico. "Hundreds of millions of animals are being slaughtered! And the hormones and the drugs and the chemicals that they unnaturally pump into these animals - they can't even stand and walk, and they're brutally murdered."

He adds, "My best advice for young people is to go out and do your own research. I wish I had the information, and everything that I knew now I wish I had when I was a teenager. If that was the case, I would have been a vegan, vegetarian, you know, since the time I was a young kid."

Tallarico recently worked with peta2 to provide the music for its Super Tofu Boy game. He joins a growing list of artists - includingg Rise Against, Forrest Kline of hellogoodbye, Davey Havok of AFI, Tom Higgenson of the Plain White T's, and Rob Zombie - who have helped peta2 urge young people to take the plunge and switch to a compassionate diet.
