The Town of Niagara Town Board continues to quietly review the tentative $7.3 million budget presented by Supervisor Steve Richards.

The Town Board plans one more budget workshop meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at which it is expected to make any final changes and set final tax rates. The actual vote on the final budget is expected at the board's regular 7 p.m. meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 16.

Unless the board makes any changes the homestead tax for residents would be $5.03 per $1,000 assessed value, up 2.3 percent. On an average home assessed at $60,000 this would mean a tax increase of $7.20 for the year, according to Richards.
