Learn about how the Senecas of the Tonawanda Reservation fought to maintain their homeland, won a landmark Supreme Court case, and produced a Civil War general and the first Native commissioner of Indian Affairs.

The History Center of Niagara County will present a program by local historian Terry Abrams on "Niagara County's Other Reservation: The History of the Tonawanda Senecas" at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at 215 Niagara St., Lockport.

Abrams is the administrative coordinator for the Western New York Association of Historical Agencies and president of the Tonawanda Reservation Historical Society. A member of the Bear Clan, he is a lifelong resident of the Tonawanda Reservation.

A donation will be accepted to help the History Center offer programming throughout the year.
