The National Federation of Independent Business, the country's leading association of small businesses, has announced its endorsement of State Sen. George Maziarz for re-election in the 62nd Senate District.

"George Maziarz has been a staunch ally of small business," said NFIB/New York State Director Mike Elmendorf. "Senator Maziarz continues to stand with small business on key issues this session, including opposing the biggest tax increase in New York state history, which included a tax hike on small business income, and increased energy and health insurance costs."

"George Maziarz is the right choice for small business," Elmendorf continued. "We look forward to continuing to partner with the senator to reduce New York's sky-high cost of doing business and improve our economy. George Maziarz is a proven leader who gets results and we need him back in Albany to keep up that fight."

NFIB's political support is based on the candidate's position and record on small-business issues. The endorsement puts the considerable grassroots support of the state's small businesses behind the Maziarz campaign.

"I'm fighting to bring economic health and vitality to Main Street, and NFIB's endorsement is very important to me," Maziarz said. "Small businesses oftentimes drive the economy in our upstate communities, and they play an important role in job creation. I've been privileged to help our small businesses and entrepreneurs in a variety of ways, from hosting annual training workshops to helping them navigate and troubleshoot through a daunting state bureaucracy to advocating for business-friendly legislation. This is important and rewarding work that I would be honored to be able to continue."
