The Niagara County Community College 2009-10 athletic teams have received the NJCAA Region III Sportsmanship Award.

The award is given out annually to a team within Region III to recognize honor, integrity and dedication in intercollegiate athletics.

It was another fine year for NCCC's athletic teams, winning two Region III crowns. Women's volleyball, under Coach Joe Daigler, won the Region III title and went on to a fourth-place finish nationally. Wrestling Coach Eric Knuutila led his team to a Region III championship with Shay Shive earning All American honors and a fourth-place national finish.

Men's basketball, under Coach Bill Beilein, had a winning record in his first season, winning a first round playoff game against Alfred State before losing to Erie Community College in the Western Region playoff finals. The NCCC men's baseball team was ranked as high as eighth nationally and made it to the Region III final four playoffs under Coach Matt Clingersmith.
