The Lockport Spring Lake Winery continues with its 2010 concert and train schedules.

The Vineyard Express excursion train dates are Sept. 25 and Oct. 2. This all-day event begins with boarding the train at Michigan Street Railroad Yard in Lockport at 9:30 a.m. The scenic train ride takes passengers along the Erie Canal route with a continental breakfast served aboard the train. The train then stops at the Medina Railroad Museum at 11 a.m. for an exclusive one-hour tour. Passengers then re-board at noon and take a half-hour ride to Spring Lake Winery.

At the winery, participants can enjoy lunch, wine tasting and music all afternoon. The train dates coincide with the "Concerts by the Lake" series featuring live music entertainment by Carl Motyka on Sept. 25 and Billy McEwan on Oct. 2. A gift shop and walking trails around the lake are also available for all guests.

Spring Lake Winery, located on the Niagara Escarpment, is home to the Varallo family vineyards. Their signature Riesling wines have won five prestigious awards for 2010. Their Late Harvest Riesling earned four of those honors, including bronze in the Dallas Morning News Competition, bronze in the U.S. Professional Wine Buyers Competition, silver in the Finger Lakes Competition, and double gold in the Women's Wine Competition.

The train returns to Lockport at 3:30 p.m. Guest admission prices for the Vineyard Express Train Ride package are $45 for adults and $20 for children under 10 years of age. Spring Lake Winery is located at 7373 Rochester Road, in Lockport, and online at www.SpringLakeWinery.com. To learn more or make a reservation, call 439-LAKE.
