Tops Friendly Markets is asking members of the western New York community to lace up their sneakers in support of Roswell Park with its third annual 5K Walk/Run and, for the first time this year, a 10K run.

The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at the National Fuel/Tops corporate office building, 6363 Main St., Williamsville. All proceeds will benefit Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Pepsi presents this year's event and co-sponsors include National Fuel, Bank of America, WIVB-TV, The CW-23, and 106.5 FM WYRK.

Pre-register before the race for $20, or register the day of the race, on-site for $25. Race-day registration will be held from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Checks must be made payable to Roswell Park/5K Race and can be mailed to Tops Markets/5K race for RPCI, Community Relations Department, P.O. Box 1027, Buffalo, NY 14240. Participants can also pre-register by visiting teamcurechallenge.com.
