Presti Karate Centers, with locations in Niagara Falls, Corning and Lewiston, reports its Team Fierce placed an impressive second at a recent Las Vegas competition.

Presti captain Shannon Myers age 16, a third-degree black belt who started with Presti at age 6, brought the demo team Team Fierce to another level. In their performance, witnessed by Grand Master Chuck Norris and hundreds of others, Team Fierce took first runner-up honors. Teams from all over the U.S. and judges from Mexico and the U.S. scored them. "They did remarkable," said John Presti, owner and head instructor of Presti Karate.

He reports that one member of Team Force had a fractured heel, another had a stress-fractured leg and one had a knee that popped out during the routine. Despite their injuries all still carried high scores. "I could only imagine what would have happened if everyone was in perfect health. One part of the routine was a blindfolded segment, to show timing, they were 100 percent synchronized."

The travel team consisted of nine Presti Karate members from all over Western New York and Canada. They included Myers; T. J. Williams, age 24; Kaloni Plut, age 21; Greg Bullock, age 17; Joe Gizzarelli, age 17; Jordan D'Angelo, age 11, Carly Presti, age 9, Adrian Adamus, age 13, and Philip D'Angelo, age 14.
