The First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, 100 Church St., will hold a Galactic Blast Vacation Bible School Aug. 16-20 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The program is open to area children entering kindergarten through sixth grade. All are welcome to attend a fun week of games, drama, crafts, science experiments and snacks.
This year, children attending the VBS will donate cans and bottles to support an environmental mission, which focuses on recycling. All proceeds from the can and bottle drive will then be donated to assist in the Gulf Oil Spill Clean-up. "This is a unique opportunity for children to make a difference and experience the joy of caring for the environment," said Michelle Phelps, VBS director.
