WOTM scholarships

Women of the Moose Chapter 1940 of Lower Niagara Moose Lodge 584 in Lewiston is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship. Lynda Mahoney of WOTM Chapter 1940 reports the scholarship is open to any Moose member in good standing or their child, spouse or grandchild that meet its qualifications criteria. These include students: not being eligible for any other financial aid (other scholarships and FASFA are not considered financial aid); having a GPA 3.0 or higher; having completed a minimum of two semesters of college; having financial need; and having participated in the Moose Lodge or community.

In addition, applicants are requested to attach an essay with the application, explaining why they should be selected to receive the scholarship. The essay should be typed and a minimum of 500 words in length.

Applications are available by contacting Mahoney at 754-8191. Completed applications and essays need to be returned to WOTM Chapter 1940, Lower Niagara Moose Lodge No. 584, 112 South Water St., Lewiston, NY 14092. Deadline is Aug. 14, 2010.
