Officials at the Niagara Tourism and Convention Corporation recently named Melissa N. Morinello as the director of marketing and communications. Morinello, former development director at Planned Parenthood of Western New York, brings nearly 10 years of marketing and special events experience to the tourism organization.
In Morinello's new role with the NTCC, she is responsible for directing and implementing the corporation's marketing and communications efforts, including developing the annual marketing plan.
Prior to her position with Planned Parenthood, Morinello served as director of development and special events for Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She has also previously held marketing and advertising positions with the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce and Seneca Niagara Casino.
A resident of Niagara Falls, Morinello earned her bachelor's degree in marketing from Johnson & Wales University. She currently serves on the board of directors of Leadership Niagara and is active in the organization's "Shotgun at Sunrise" committee. In addition, Morinello volunteers with several local community organizations, including the Niagara Beautification Commission, Pine Avenue Business Association Italian Festival and Planned Parenthood of Western New York.
