The following activity occurred Monday, June 28, to Sunday, July 4, as reported by the Lewiston Police Department. A total of 88 calls were answered by LPD during this period.

Monday, June 28

  • Two-vehicle property-damage-only accident at North Eighth Street and Fairchild Place. Statements taken from both drivers. No injuries; vehicle No. 2 towed.
  • Suspicious person on Military Road. State Police handled the call.
  • Larceny complaint on the 300 block of South Seventh Street. Statement taken from a 65-year-old female. Report filed.
  • Burglary complaint at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine on the 1000 block of Swann Road. Statement taken from a 45-year-old male who reported a moneybox was broken into. Report filed.
  • Neighbor problem on the 400 block of River Walk Drive. Statement taken from a 40-year-old male regarding a 42-year-old male. All parties advised to refrain from any future contact with each other. Report filed.
  • Custody dispute on the 800 block of Jefferson's Way. Statement taken from a 37-year-old female and a 57-year-old female. Problem resolved by patrol.
  • Fraud complaint on the 1000 block of Escarpment Drive. Statement taken from a 58-year-old female regarding an unknown suspect. Complainant reports receiving an e-mail from an unknown party requesting a money transfer. Complainant did not wire any money. Patrol's investigation to continue.
  • Property damage complaint on the 400 block of Plain Street. Statement taken from a 41-year-old male who reported that a large tree fell over into his backyard, damaging a wooden fence. Complainant advised to contact his insurance company.

Tuesday, June 29

  • Unwanted party on the 5700 block of Buffalo Street in Sanborn. Subject left prior to patrol's arrival. Patrol cleared.
  • Patrol reports assisting the Niagara County Sheriff's Department on a check welfare call at a Creek Road address in the Town of Porter. Subject located and in NCSD custody; call was mental health related. Rural Metro Ambulance transported for treatment. Patrol cleared.
  • Check-situation call at Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center on the 5300 block of Military Road for a fight in the waiting room area. Patrol reported the subjects involved were gone on arrival while others on scene were not cooperative. All secure.
  • Suspicious vehicle complaint on the 600 block of Morgan Drive. Patrol spoke with a male regarding a 2008 Nissan he wanted removed.
  • Reckless driver complaint on the 2300 block of Upper Mountain Road. Patrol informed of a white mini-bike going up and down the roadway at a high rate of speed. Area checked with negative results.
  • Patrol reports assisting NCSD with an aggravated harassment complaint on the 3100 block of Sanders Settlement Road. All OK.
  • Patrol on follow-up to an earlier custody complaint on the 500 block of Riverdale Avenue reported the arrest of a 30-year-old female for second-degree harassment. Appearance ticket issued for Lewiston Town Court. Report filed.
  • Physical domestic incident on the 400 block of Onondaga Street. Patrol spoke with a 31-year-old male and a 30-year-old female. Parties separated for the night and no charges filed.
  • Driving while intoxicated arrest on North Sixth Street. Patrol reported the arrest of a 19-year-old male for DWI. No information on Blood Alcohol Content testing. Appearance tickets issued for Lewiston Town Court and vehicle secured. Report filed.

Wednesday, June 30

  • Auto-stripping complaint on South Water Street. Statement taken from a 21-year-old male who reported a car antenna was stolen off a vehicle. Report filed.
  • Vehicle check on Cayuga Drive. Patrol reported a driver under the influence of alcohol and not well enough to drive. Driver released to a third party; no information on any charges. Vehicle secured.
  • Disturbing the peace complaint on Page Avenue. Area checked with negative results.
  • Fireworks complaint on Morgan Drive. Area checked with negative results.
  • Burglary alarm on the 1500 block of Saunders Settlement Road. House secure; no key holder available. Patrol cleared.
  • Patrol reported the arrest of a 21-year-old female from an earlier larceny complaint on Townline Road. Appearance ticket issued for Lewiston Town Court and suspect transferred to custody of Niagara Falls Police.
  • Larceny of flowers at Eighth Street and Portage Road. Patrol spoke with a 61-year-old female; investigation to continue.
  • Harassment complaint at LPD. Patrol spoke with a 36-year-old male regarding a 62-year-old male. Patrol taking deposition; investigation to continue.
  • ATV complaint at Bond Lake Park. Patrol spoke with a 21-year-old male regarding two males, ages 31 and 29. Report filed.
  • Officer requested on the 600 block of Cayuga Street. Patrol advised of a reckless driver; vehicle reported not stopping at stop signs on Cayuga and on North Seventh Street. Patrol to check the area.
  • Welfare check at Ward and Lockport roads for a suspicious male dressed in dark clothing walking in and out of traffic. Patrol checked the area and was unable to locate.

Thursday, July 1

  • Criminal mischief complaint on the 5900 block of Kline Road. Patrol spoke with a 46-year-old female whose residence was egged. Patrol reports the woman's son was having problems with area juveniles. Resolved by patrol.
  • Neighbor problem on the 5400 block of Elm Drive. Patrol spoke with a 67-year-old male; all secure.
  • Two vehicle property-damage-only accidents on Powell and East Eddy drives, and on Ninth and Center streets. Statements taken from all drivers. Reports filed.
  • Criminal mischief complaint on the 800 block of Cayuga Street. Statement taken from a 47-year-old female; investigation to continue. Report filed.
  • Report of females sitting in the roadway at Elliott and Cleghorn drives. Subjects advised to sit on the grass.
  • Possible harassment complaint on the 4900 block of Ridgeview Avenue. Patrol spoke with a 48-year-old male; no problem found. Patrol cleared.

Friday, July 2

  • Loud music complaint at a bar/restaurant on the 400 block of Center Street. Patrol checked and reported the music wasn't loud. No problems.
  • AED response on the 900 block of North Hewitt Drive for a 32-year-old female having difficulty breathing. Lewiston No. 2 Volunteer Fire Co. EMS on location; AED not used.
  • Reckless driver complaint on Swann Road. Patrol advised of a red and green car racing down the road; area checked with negative results.
  • Open burn complaints - on the 2200 block of Ridge Road, no problems found; and on the 5900 block of Kline Road - patrol spoke with a 68-year-old female and a 45-year-old female. Call addressed; report filed.
  • Patrol reports assisting NCSD - on an welfare check call on the 3300 block of East Avenue, all OK; and on an alarm response on the 4900 block of Sweet Home Road; all secure.

Saturday, July 3

  • Report of a male walking roadside on Creek Road near Washington Drive. Patrol located the subject and transported to the 900 block of Balmer Road.
  • Criminal mischief complaint on the 2900 block of Upper Mountain Road. Statement taken from a 44-year-old female who reported tires slashed on a 1994 Toyota and on a 2002 Kia Sportage. Report filed.
  • Welfare check on the 600 block of Scovell Drive. Patrol reports a 30-year-old male was taken voluntarily by his brother to a hospital for a mental health evaluation. Report filed.
  • Fraud scheme complaint on the 4500 block of Creek Road. Statement taken from a 45-year-old male regarding a male suspect. Report filed.
  • Patrol requested to assist a homeowner on the 400 block of Onondaga Street with a cat struck in tree. Patrol was unable to assist.
  • Juvenile problem on the 700 block of Raymond Drive. Patrol reported a brother and sister arguing about a calzone.
  • Patrol reports assisting New York State Parks Police with a gorge rescue at Devil's Hole. No further details.
  • Domestic incident on the 1200 block of Saunders Settlement Road. Patrol spoke with a 39-year-old female and a 37-year-old male; Domestic Incident Report filed.

Sunday, July 4

  • One-vehicle accident on the 1700 block of Saunders Settlement Road. Patrol reported the arrest of a 39-year-old male for Driving While Intoxicated. Blood Alcohol Content test request refused. Driver arraigned at Lewiston Town Court. Bail of $250/$500 assigned, and driver remanded to the Niagara County Jail. Report filed.
  • Counterfeit currency complaint at a gas/convenience business on the 2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road. Statement taken from a 47-year-old male regarding a passed $100 counterfeit bill. Report filed.
  • Harassment complaint at a restaurant on the 700 block of Center Street. Statement taken from a 44-year-old male, a 50-year-old female and a 37-year-old female. Report filed.
  • Fireworks complaints on the 5800 block of Buffalo Street and on the 5900 Kline Road - both calls unfounded.
  • Vehicle fire on Green Road. Plate number recorded and owner listed. Vehicle towed; report filed.
  • Prowler complaint on the 5100 block of Country Club Trail. Area checked and all secure.
