4 caught in ATV thefts

Deputies from the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, assisted by the Town of Lewiston Police Department and the New York State Police, have apprehended four individuals responsible for the thefts of five all-terrain vehicles and one dirt bike.

The ATV's were stolen from garages and sheds of four different residences in the Wheatfield area. Deputies on Tuesday still were attempting to identify the owner of the stolen dirt bike.

The following individuals were arrested early Tuesday for numerous counts of burglary and theft-related crimes:

Edwin Colon, 16, from Buffalo was arrested for four counts of burglary third degree, two counts of grand larceny third degree, one count grand larceny fourth degree and one count of petit larceny.

Michael Frears, 16, from Amherst was arrested for four counts of burglary third degree, two counts of grand larceny third degree, one count grand larceny fourth degree and one count petit larceny.

Daniel Lopez, 17, from Buffalo was arrested for four counts of burglary third degree, two counts of grand larceny third, degree one count grand larceny fourth degree and one count petit larceny.

One juvenile was also arrested and issued appearance tickets for related charges.
