Week two of the "First Niagara presents Tuesday in the Park" free outdoor concert series at Artpark's outdoor amphitheater will present the best of blues on June 22 with Jimmie Vaughan & The Tilt-A-Whirl Band. The mini blues fest starts at 6:30 p.m. with Buffalo's own Blues Remedy opening the night.

Vaughan ranks among the top blues musicians today. Best known as a founding member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Vaughan has made a name for himself with his hits, "Tuff Enuff" and "Six Strings Down," a tribute to his older brother Stevie Ray Vaughan. Friend and collaborator Buddy Guy says of Vaughan, "He's unbeatable when it comes to the blues. He just plays it like it's supposed to be played."

Alongside his blues collective The Tilt-A-Whirl Band, Vaughan will hit the stage with classic blues cuts as well as songs from his new album "Blues, Ballads, & Favorites," due out July 6.

American roadhouse singer, Lou Ann Barton of Triple Threat Revue and Double Trouble fame will also take the stage during this special concert event.

Artpark's concert events include a wide variety of free, family-friendly, hands-on art workshops, including drawing, face painting, dress-up, self-portraits and more.

Artpark's Outdoor Amphitheater opens to the public at 4 p.m. on event nights, and can be accessed via the upper park's Portage Road entrance off of Center Street or through South Fourth Street nearest the Mainstage Theater.

The "Tuesday in the Park" concert series is presented by First Niagara and sponsored by Certo Brothers Distributing Company, Sevenson Environmental Services, Modern Corporation, Frey Electric Construction Company, Maid of the Mist Corporation, Mark Cerrone Inc., Compu-Mail, Tim Hortons-Niagara Falls, DiMino's Lewiston Tops, Pine Pharmacy and Time Warner Cable.

Food and beverage carry-ins are prohibited at all of Artpark's free concert events. On-site parking is $10.
